About Tinkercast
Named by Fast Company as one of the most innovative companies of 2024, Tinkercast is an audio-first children’s media company with content that has been downloaded more than 275 million times. Its flagship program Wow in the World has expanded into a #1 New York Times-best selling book series, a first-of-its-kind consumer products line, a multi-city live tour, a YouTube channel with millions of monthly views and podcast-based learning programs for classrooms and homeschool, TinkerClass and TinkerClass@Home.

We asked Meredith Halpern-Ranzer, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Tinkerer at Tinkercast, to tell us more:
Why did you start your company?
Eight years ago, my partners and co-founders Guy Raz (How I Built This, The Great Creators), Mindy Thomas (SXM Kids Place), and I had a big vision to use audio stories to engage curious kids and their grownups in the wonders and wows all around them. As parents, storytellers and hope-holders for our future, we were driven by our belief that great content and playful experiences can connect parents to kids, curiosity to imagination, laughter to learning, and kids to the WOW in their world.
How do you develop your products?

If you’ve listened to any Tinkercast podcast, it’s probably no surprise to learn that here at Tinkercast, we love a good laugh.
We’re eager to talk all about poop, the love life of animals, and building homes out of diapers – in the name of science of course! We don’t shy away from bathroom humor, and we take every opportunity to say BONKERBALLS!
You may be wondering, “Why in the WOW are these episodes so silly?!” All jokes aside, laughter has many benefits for your students’ learning and well-being!
